BART EMBRECHTS

Bart Embrechts is an entrepreneur and investor with a background in economics (University of Antwerp, 1998) and a strong track record in building and scaling tech-driven businesses.

He began his career in IT, contributing to the growth of the SAP consulting division at CSS. In 2002, he founded E-Chain Management, expanding it internationally to 120 employees before its acquisition by Ordina in 2008. As a board member at Ordina Belgium, Bart led key parts of the delivery organization and drove the shift toward a solutions-focused model centered on business value.

In 2012, he founded Gumption, where he partners with consulting and technology companies to support sustainable growth through hands-on involvement, strategic guidance, and investment, always respecting the unique identity of each business.

Outside of work, Bart enjoys the good life in Southern Spain, spending time hiking and exploring Andalucía. He has a passion for travel, real estate projects, and reading non-fiction.

Dieter Oversteyns

Dieter Oversteyns is co-founder of the Gumption Group and TheValueChain, where he currently leads TheValueChain’s International Group. As an entrepreneur and business leader, he combines strategic vision with a strong people-focused leadership style. Although much of the business centres on project delivery, Dieter’s real passion lies in growth, helping people, teams, and organizations develop and thrive sustainably.

He believes strongly that culture, collaboration, and long-term relationships are key drivers of success. Through the Gumption Group, he helped build an entrepreneurial ecosystem where ambition and human values go hand in hand. Outside of work, Dieter is a proud father of three, a sports enthusiast, and someone who values quality time with family and friends.

Olivier Leroy

Olivier Leroy is Chief Commercial Officer of the Gumption group, responsible for defining the group’s commercial strategy, market positioning, and customer success across its portfolio of technology and consulting companies. With a strong background in commercial leadership, business development, and IT services, he focuses on translating complex customer challenges into impactful solutions and long term value creation for TheValueChain and the wider Gumption ecosystem.

Since co founding Gumption in 2012, Olivier has played a central role in shaping its growth, championing a pragmatic, customer centric approach to digital innovation. Outside of work, he enjoys playing tennis, golf, and padel.

Alain Prick

Alain Prick is Chief Marketing Officer of the Gumption group, responsible for shaping the group’s marketing strategy, positioning, and lead generation across its portfolio of technology and consulting companies. With a strong background in B2B marketing, business development, and technology services, he focuses on turning complex value propositions into clear market messaging and commercial impact.

Alain works closely with leadership teams across the group to strengthen brand awareness, align go-to-market initiatives, and support sustainable growth in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and beyond. He is particularly passionate about applied innovation, customer relevance, and building marketing capabilities that directly contribute to business performance. Outside work, Alain enjoys Southern Spain, travel, golf, and automotive classics.

Liene De Bie

Liene De Bie is People Partner at Gumption Group. She has experienced firsthand how culture shapes performance, trust, and retention. At Gumption, her primary focus is building and protecting a strong people-first culture across a growing group of companies and countries. She creates the conditions in which people feel aligned and supported, especially as organisational complexity increases.

By aligning frameworks with how people actually work together, Liene ensures culture remains tangible and lived, not aspirational. She leads the team responsible for HR, fleet and facilities, ensuring that the essentials behind the scenes are stable, consistent and well organised while enabling people to focus on their role.

Marcel van Buren

Marcel van Buren is Chief Financial Officer and Co-creation Partner at the Gumption Group, where he focuses on M&A, portfolio development, and strategic growth across the group’s ecosystem of technology and consulting companies. With a degree in Economic Public and Business Law (Utrecht University, 1994) and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law (Radboud University), he combines legal and commercial expertise with a hands-on entrepreneurial mindset.

Before joining Gumption in 2016, Marcel held senior roles at Ordina, including Director of Corporate Affairs and leading the Business Solutions division, and served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Rabobank Lek en Merwede. He has acted as deal captain on more than 30 corporate finance transactions and brings deep experience in strategy, M&A, and business transformation. Outside work, Marcel is an avid runner and football player, and a proud father.
